# Overview

If you’ve spent more than an hour looking into crypto, you probably have seen someone make 10-100x returns on a *memecoin.*

*A memecoin is cryptocurrency that has no real utility, but rather is created based around an internet meme to create a sense of entertainment. Their value comes from communities who want to see a particular meme grow, and traders who want to make a large profit.*

*Dogecoin, the first ever memecoin, peaked at a market cap of 84 **billion** US dollars, making it more valuable than companies such as target, dell, and BMW to name a few.*

Memecoins see billions of dollars in trading volume every week, and provide lucrative opportunities for large returns. However, the sad truth is that trading memecoins, for **most**, is *simply* gambling. 99% of memecoin traders lose, whereas 1% win, and they win **big**.

So, who are the winning 1%? They are simply the ones holding all the **information**. They are the *coin developers,* the ones who are *advertising* the coins, and those who are getting *first hand information* from the developers and advertisers. It is simply a game of knowing when these coins will launch, will be advertised by influencers, and will be sold by those holding large supply. Investing without this knowledge is simply a casino, where the house always wins.

So how on earth are you able to make money from this, if you are new to crypto and are most definitely not holding this insider information? Well, fortunately, on the *blockchain* all crypto wallets are publicly available. So the game is simple: Find these insider wallets, and copy their trades. Follow along to see how!

NOTE: For the tutorial we will initially just focus on memecoins on the Solana blockchain, which is currently leading the memecoin space and is most lucrative for beginners due to low transaction costs.
